Launching MICC's Website

A few weeks ago, we launched a brand new website for MICC, a construction company looking to expand its reach. The site was built on Wix, with a focus on showcasing the company's capabilities through a portfolio of case studies, franchise builds, and project management skills.
This project was a bit different for me. It was the first time I worked on a site where the content was entirely client-driven. Instead of developing and organizing the information myself, I was tasked with suggesting the best ways to present it. We went through many iterations, figuring out the most effective way to explain and display the company’s work to their audience.

Key takeaways from the process:
Trust the client’s expertise – The client knows their industry best. Use their references, examples, and competitor insights to guide decisions.
Stay open to new ideas – Be flexible in finding solutions that fit the business, even if it means trying new layouts or presentation methods.
Keep it simple – Navigation and information hierarchy should be intuitive for users. Sometimes, less is more.
Edit ruthlessly – Quality over quantity. Instead of overwhelming the audience with ten case studies, focus on three solid examples that truly showcase the company’s capabilities. An outside perspective can help identify which pieces have the most impact.
We started with a splash page, giving us time to develop the organization of content and prioritize what was most important for MICC’s audience. From there, we refined the structure, presentation, and flow to ensure the site communicates the company’s strengths clearly and effectively.
Launching this site was not just about building pages. It was about creating a digital experience that reflects MICC’s professionalism, expertise, and vision for growth.
